Function

The device plays a crucial role in connecting the towing rope to the cable package. It effectively prevents the towing rope from being pushed sideways by strong lateral forces like wind. This ensures the stability and safety of the related systems during operation, especially in windy conditions.

Installation

1. Required Tools: Socket wrench SW4 (a long - arm wrench is preferred due to high torque requirements, and standard short wrench sockets are not suitable; a longer version is needed), wrench SW13, and Loctite 243.
2. Assembly Steps:
   • Install the device when the festoon system is retracted.
   • Fix the device to the lower cable clamp with two shackles and secure them with Loctite 243 to prevent it from falling.
   • Attach the wind restraining damping device in the middle (vertically) between the two cable clamps to the towing rope. Insert the towing rope into the groove and slightly clamp it with the set screws. The plastic housing on the clamp can be turned about 45° to access the set screws.
   • To achieve the required clamping force, follow these steps: First, find the reference point for tightening the set screws. Check if the clamp can be moved by hand in the direction of the towing rope. If it can, slightly tighten the set screws and go back to the check step. If not, check if the clamp can be turned by hand around the axis of the towing rope. If it can, proceed to the next step; if not, slightly untighten the set screws and start over. Then, tighten the set screws by 2 ½ turns
